Chester’s oldest hotel recently completed a multi-million pound refurbishment. The stylish city centre hotel features new rooms as well as a modern design palette with a hint of tradition.
The hotel is situated in the heart of the historic city and looks forward to welcoming old and new guests alike. Set in the heart of Chester, Blossoms Hotel has much of what makes Chester so charming quite literally on its doorstep. Also nearby are Chester Zoo, Chester Racecourse and the famous Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village. The distinctive façade of Blossoms Hotel conceals a wealth of comforts and delights. Throughout the hotel, the furnishings and decor create a mood of relaxed elegance.
The newly designed lounge and cocktail bar provide the perfect environment for relaxing with a coffee and snack. The full lounge menu runs throughout the day and evening, providing the ideal stop-off point in Chester. Featuring Wi-Fi access, you could call in for an informal business meeting.
In the evening the lights come down and the funky and inviting cocktail bar serves a full range of fun drinks. The restaurant offers traditional, everyday cookery, served in a historic room with a modern twist. All this is served to Macdonald Hotels’ highest standards. The hotel operates a non-smoking policy throughout.

The hotel recommends guests park in the Newgate Street NCP car park, where a reduced cost of GBP 6 per 24 hours can be taken advantage of.
There are 67 new, individual experiences in the character rooms which have many original features, including leaded windows and cornices. Several rooms have views over the city. The rooms come in all shapes and sizes, from feature rooms and suites to classic twin and double rooms. All are equipped with 23-inch LCD TVs.
All rooms are en suite. The restaurant is only available for breakfast, no lunch or dinner are served.
All twin rooms are non-smoking, with en suite bath and shower facilities.
The Snooty Fox restaurant offers everyday cookery and is open Tuesday to Saturday, serving lunch, afternoon teas and dinner. The bar and lounge area is open for light bites every day until 21:00.
By Car
From the M53 motorway:
- From the M53, take the exit for the A56 following the signs towards Chester city centre.
- Follow the signs for the city centre ring road.
- From the ring road, approach Fountains roundabout, where you need to turn off into Upper Northgate Street.
- The turn-off is next to the Majestic Wine Warehouse.
- Follow the road round via Delamere and George Street.
- Turn left at the traffic lights at the top of George Street.
- Drive under the city walls, through the Northgate Arch and continue down Northgate Street for approximately 200 metres.
- Go straight ahead at the sign which says Pedestrian Zone - Disabled Permit Holders, Hotels and Loading Only.
- Proceed through the staffed barrier, letting the person on the barrier know that you are staying at the Blossoms Hotel.
- Turn left down St. Werburgh's Street, past Chester Cathedral.
- At the bottom of the street, turn left again into Eastgate Street.
- Pass under the city walls at the Eastgate Clock, and follow the road round to the right into St John's Street.
- The Blossoms Hotel is the first large building on your left-hand side. You may park here to unload and the staff at reception will direct you to the Pepper Street NCP public car park, where there is a reduced parking rate for guests of the hotel. Parking spaces at the car park are subject to availability.
